It was a privilege to have three ladies from Townsville’s first ever Women’s Masters team to present the Awards at the Championships held in Townsville in 2018. These 3 ladies were part of the Queensland Women’s Masters Championships held in Townsville in 1985.
A big thank you goes out to Kathy Knight, Rhonda Crossman and Bunny Osborne. We hope you enjoyed your time at the Championships.
Kathy played hockey from the age of 16 for 30 odd years. She has held various Committee positions for Townsville Hockey Association as well as her Club. Kathy has also umpired, coached, managed various teams and is life member of her Club (Brothers). Her husband and daughter played hockey for many years. Her granddaughter and nephew (Steve Knight) still play. Kathy enjoyed catching up with past players at the Championships this year. She also enjoyed watching the finals. Rhonda played hockey from the age of 16 for 30 plus years. She has coached from Junior to Senior aged divisions, as well as Primary School Girls. Rhonda is a life member of Parks Hockey Club and a life member of Townsville Hockey Association. She represented Townsville several times at the Women’s Masters Championships and has also held various Committee positions with Townsville Hockey Association over the years.
Bunny also played hockey for over 30 years. She has coached the Secondary School Girls Teams. Bunny also represented Townsville several times at the Women’s Masters Championships and helped with any fundraising for all age divisions. Bunny and Rhonda played with their nieces and daughters for many years.
Kathy, Rhonda and Bunny developed their friendship through hockey and their love of the game.
