It is with sadness that we advise the passing of Dianne Opbroek (24 Dec 1954 – 20 April 2016) who was an Australian Women’s Masters Teams selector.
Di was an integral member of the Selection Panel from 2007 to 2013 and had an exceptional dedication and passion for our sport. She will always be remembered for her smile, laughter and support to all who had the delight of being in her presence. Di’s committed involvement as an Australian Teams Selector will always be treasured and we mourn the loss of a beautiful friend.
Di lived in Hobart and gave her all to everything she undertook. She was an outstanding, committed teacher, a proud and supportive mum and a wonderful, caring friend to many.
When she was diagnosed with cancer less than two years ago, she threw her energy into beating this horrible disease while also raising funds for bowel cancer. She was an inspiration to many and despite her own grave illness, was always thoughtful and caring of others in need.
Di was a true lady who embraced all of life’s joys and challenges with love, pride, honesty and kindness. Di is sadly missed as a friend, supporter and volunteer to Hockey Australia Women’s Masters …….
Remembered always within ‘our team’.
