Sunshine Coast Hockey Association
Early Beginnings
The first Sunshine Coast Masters Women’s team entered a combined Open/Veterans Championship at Tweed in 1990. Competing in Division 2, they played a thrilling final against Toowoomba, resulting in a draw. To complete the squad, three players were recruited from Gympie. With no official medals awarded at the time, the team took matters into their own hands—crafting their own medals out of cardboard!
