Returning to Nationals – Dena Licciardello

Dena Licciardello started playing hockey at the age of 13 and is still playing today. Currently she plays for North Brisbane and Capri Gold Coast representing Gold Coast at the State Championships each year.

Both Dena’s children played hockey and her youngest child still plays today at the age of 27 years, representing Queensland for both Field Hockey and Indoor Hockey.

Dena has coached various junior teams over the years from Minkey’s to U13s.

Representation for Queensland has been in the 35s and 40s age divisions, returning this year to participate in the Qld 55 #2 team after encouragement from her brother who wanted her to come back playing at State and National levels.

Awards Dena has received have been Highest Goal Scorer, Best and Fairest and Most Games Played for the Season.
Dena says her best hockey experience is representing Australia in the 35s age division.

She has also enjoyed playing in the Queensland teams, meeting forever friends from all States. These friendships you will always remember fondly.
